Real World Connections Chat with Newark Summer Youth Program
Altice USA hosted a Real World Connections program for teens in the Coding Initiative of the Newark Summer Youth Program at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. The students had the opportunity to sit down with Altice CEO Dexter Goei, US Senator Cory Booker and Newark Mayor Ras Baraka to engage in discussion about entrepreneurship, technology, and how the STEM skills they are learning can be applied in the real world. As part of the 2018 program, the students also experienced how technology plays a role in cable operations with a visit to Altice’s headend video and data control center in Parsippany, New Jersey, where they got to meet and talk with several Altice USA engineers and technicians about their jobs and career experiences. In addition, several Altice USA leaders spent time at NJIT reviewing the students’ projects to provide feedback and coaching.
