Altice USA Employees Volunteer with City Squash
Altice employee volunteers participated in a STEM mentorship experience with 60 children in grades 4-10 enrolled in CitySquash’s summer camp program on the Fordham University campus. CitySquash is a not-for-profit after-school enrichment program that helps motivated and talented young people from economically disadvantaged households fulfill their academic, athletic and personal potential. For its participants, CitySquash offers an intensive, year-round commitment that includes squash, tutoring, mentoring, community service, travel, culture, high school placement, college prep, and career support. CitySquash, based in the Bronx at Fordham University and in Brooklyn at Poly Prep Country Day School, begins working with students in third grade and serves them through college graduation.
Employees spoke about Altice’s network and innovative technologies and discussed their jobs and the role science, technology, engineering and math plays in their careers. Employees mentored small groups of campers as they imagined future technologies and designed an innovation they would like to see come to fruition. Students created posters representing their innovations. After the STEM experience, campers invited Altice employees to join them on the squash and taught them about playing the sport.
