Weston High School Recognized in C-SPAN’s Nationwide StudentCam Competition
Cablevision and C-SPAN visited Weston High School along with CT State Representative John Shaban and First Selectwoman Gayle Weinstein to recognize C-SPAN's nationwide StudentCam Competition honorable mention winners, Daniel Bogaev and James Willis.
StudentCam is C-SPAN’s annual national video documentary competition that encourages students to think critically about issues that affect our communities and our nation. This year, students were asked to create a short (5-7 minute) video documentary answering the question, “What’s the most important issue the U.S. Congress should address in 2014?” C-SPAN representative Chellie Zou, Superintendent Colleen Palmer, Principal Lisa Deorio and 30 students, staff and parents participated in the presentation which included a viewing of the winning documentary. The winning students were presented with Optimum gift bags and certificates, C-SPAN certificates and proclamations from Representative Shaban.
