Delete Cyberbullying
Wilton Family YMCA holds Delete Cyberbullying Event
Optimum Community brought the Internet Smarts/Delete Cyberbullying program to the Wilton Family YMCA Summer Camp. Congressman Jim Himes, Senator Toni Boucher and Representative Gail Lavielle participated in the program and spoke to the students about their own experiences with bullying and the dangers of cyberbullying. Over 120 campers in grades 3-10 attended the program, which included a camper presentation on bullying through different types of social media. Students signed a pledge against cyberbullying and had the opportunity to ask Senator Boucher and Representative Lavielle questions about government's role in preventing cyberbullying.
