Meet the Leaders at School
Westhill High School Holds a Meet the Leaders at School Taping
Students at Westhill High School participated in a Meet the Leaders @ School taping with Representative Patricia Miller, Representative Caroline Simmons and Stamford Public Schools Superintendent Winifred Hamilton. Eight students had the opportunity to ask questions that ranged in topics from public service to female leadership. Over 75 students attended the taping.
"Historically, women have been on the forefront of many movements and continue to be catalysts for change. Through their tenacity they have opened doors and proudly hold important positions in state and local government. I applaud all of the students involved today and commend Cablevision for programs such as this that help motivate young people to be involved in government affairs," said Representative Miller.
Representative Simmons noted, "I would like to congratulate the students here today for their perceptive questions on important issues. I believe it's important that young people recognize and are aware of the many contributions that women have made and the key roles they play in contemporary society. I also thank Cablevision for bringing this program to the students in our community."
"It was an honor to spend time today with such bright students who are clearly interested in learning more about important issues affecting women and our community," said Superintendent Hamilton. "I encourage each of you to stay involved and continue to break new ground. I also thank Cablevision for making local students part of informative programs like Meet the Leaders."
