Webutuck High School Participates in a Veteran’s Day Meet the Leaders at School
Webutuck High School students had the opportunity to participate in the taping of a Veteran’s Day Edition of Meet the Leaders at School. Congressman Chris Gibson, American Legion Post 178 Commander Sargent Major Robert Jenks and Kent Phyfe from America’s Vet Dogs joined AP US History students in a panel discussion that covered the military background of the guests and current duties of the Congressman. Congressman Chris Gibson spoke at the top of the program, and Cablevision presented America’s Vet Dogs and the American Legion Post 178 each with donations of $2,500.
“Our veterans have dedicated their lives to their country and have made countless sacrifices and deserve to be recognized for their commitment,” said Congressman Gibson. “I congratulate the students who participated today for their insightful questions and also applaud Cablevision for bringing this program to our young people so that they can better understand the untold sacrifices made by the members of the military. As a nation, we are grateful to each and every one of them.”
