Floral Park Memorial High School Students Receive Charity Champions Donation For Reason2Smile
Optimum Community hosted a Charity Champions check presentation at Floral Park Memorial High School during the school’s Battle of the Bands fundraising event, awarding students in the Global Awareness Club and Student Council with a $1,000 check for their charity and $500 seed money to continue their fundraising efforts. All proceeds from the event were donated to their selected charity, Reason2Smile.
Reason2Smile, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide education, food, clothing and healthcare to orphaned and at-risk children, provides financial support for the Jambo Jipya School and orphanage in Mtwapa, Kenya. The school provides a nurturing and safe environment for students in kindergarten through 12th grade as well as a nursery program. Reason2Smile also supports students who graduate and get accepted into higher education programs.
