Students at Carle Place High School are Celebrated as Grand Prize Charity Champions Winners
Students at Carle Place High School, the 2015-16 Charity Champions grand prize-winning Nassau County school, attended a celebration to honor their achievements. Optimum Community was on hand to present the students with a check for $5,000 to be donated to their charity, Tuesday’s Children. The students held several fundraisers throughout the school year, including an exciting “Battle of the Classes” to raise nearly $19,000.
Formed in the aftermath of September 11th, Tuesday’s Children has provided services for the children of 9/11 victims, first responders, and military personnel. In addition, they have taken an international approach to bringing together the victims of terrorism from around the world through its Project Common Bond. Tuesday’s Children is one of only a handful of 9/11 charities that is fully operational today. It has evolved to continue to meet the needs of those impacted by the events of 9/11 and terrorism around the world.
