C-SPAN StudentCam Contest

Hackensack Students Win Honorable Mention in CSPAN Competition

Optimum Community and C-SPAN held an award presentation for 2 students from Bergen County Academies in Hackensack, NJ. Ryan Seffinger and Maria Mendoza won Honorable Mention and $250 for their documentary, Citizens United v. FEC: A Transformative Decision in CSPAN’s annual video documentary competition. The competition encourages students to think critically about issues affecting their communities and the nation by creating a 5-7 minute documentary. The students’ video was in response to the theme for this year, “The Three Branches and You”, and focused on the Supreme Court decision in favor of US citizens in a case against the FEC.
