Charity Champions
Passaic Valley Students Recognized for Participation in Charity Champions
Students at Passaic Valley Regional High School were recognized today for their fundraising efforts as part of their participation in this year’s Charity Champions program. The school was presented with $1,000 to be donated to Habitat for Humanity, the charity chosen by the students in the Interact Club, during a Volleyball Tournament. Over 200 parents and students attended the tournament, of which all proceeds went to Habitat for Humanity. The students have been working to raise money for this charity for the past two years to help purchase supplies to build two houses for families in need. In 2013, they helped build the frame to a house on the front lawn of the school that was then moved to Mount Olive, NJ. In 2014, they built the walls of a home for a family in Tuckertown, NJ, that was affected by Hurricane Sandy.
