The Merrick Avenue Middle School Jazz Ensemble and the “Word Of Mouth” a cappella group recently performed various musical selections at the East Meadow Bristal Assisted Living Center and the Seasons Lifestyle Community Center. This was the twenty-third year in a row that the student musicians played, and the sixth year for the a cappella group. The seventh and eighth graders have been rehearsing since late September and worked very hard to create a captivating and engaging performance. There were smiles all around as the students shared their talents and made the day a little brighter through music for all.

"It was nice to see the people clapping and singing along. It felt good to know that I was giving back to the community," shared performer Hannah S.
