Love Never Goes Out of Style
For the past five years, students from the
Smithtown Christian School (SCS) have organized a food drive to help those on Long Island who could use a little something extra during the holiday season. Amidst cheering and shouting, the entire school gets to watch and take part in a relay-style race to pack 125 shopping bags filled to the brim with food. Each bag has the groceries needed to present a holiday dinner including yams, marshmallows, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cookie mixes, cranberries, cornbread and veggies. Enjoying the opportunity to experience the true spirit of giving and selflessness, Ariel shared, “I’m so happy that we get a chance to do this as a school!” Kristina added, “It’s fun and it really helps people.” Lastly, Hannah said, “Let’s keep doing this!” The pack-out was a win-win situation for everyone proving that love never goes out of style.
