PB & J Day
As the holiday season ends,
Oceanside Middle School Builder’s Club members are determined to continue providing their community with support and service. Three community service projects are being prepared for the cold winter months, all funded by the students fundraising efforts. In the works are a coat drive for the needy, and creating fabric hearts filled with potpourri for a Valentine’s Day senior center visit.
Recently, the club members got busy at their “Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Making Day.” The students were excited to make tasty treats for a local men’s shelter and even made themselves some treats as well. They worked in groups of three and made over 60 sandwiches. Club member Aidan S. shared, “This is really awesome! We get to make lots of sandwiches for people who could not make them for themselves.” Arianne Q. added, “I feel happy when I make the sandwiches. It is like being helpful while having fun.”
