Charity Champions
Warwick Valley High School Students Raise Funds for the Warwick Valley Empty Bowls Project
Optimum Community presented a $1,000 donation to Warwick Valley High School for their participation in this year’s Charity Champions program. The students selected Warwick Valley Empty Bowls as their charity and the presentation took place during the final Board of Education meeting for the 2015-2016 school year with more than 50 community members in attendance.
Warwick Valley Empty Bowls seeks to feed the hungry in the local areas as well as in surrounding areas. Earlier in the school year, students sold their handmade ceramic bowls at an event which included live music, kids’ activities and community meal service. All proceeds from the event went to the Backpack Snack Attack program, Warwick Community Kitchen and the Florida Community, Greenwood Lake and Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantries.
